He was magical. I saw a video of the making of “We are the world” and he glided his feet at one point in the recording booth and it looked like he was floating somehow and his feet were going 100809763 mph, it was amazing.

These days it’s common to use motion capture for CG animation, where a human being is wired up with little motion sensors which record their movement and translate it into movement on-screen. So a lot of computerized animations are based on real life movements anyway! It’s just that Michael Jackson had a whole lot of dance training and was pretty gifted to start with! The human body is capable of truly surprising feats of grace and movement – just look up a youtube video of those Shaolin monks strutting their stuff. It’s really, really impressive what people can do if they put time and effort into achieving it!

years of practice and he was a genius at dancing there will never be anyone that can dance like him and that is a lot coming from me I am more into heavy metal and **** pop music but Michael was awesome

Start with a gift which means a love for music and the ability to connect with it through dance
Then use that gift to practice everyday to take from what’s in your head and what you’re inspired from (eg James Brown etc) and practice until you’re feet are almost falling off.
There are a couple of moves that I just cannot explain. First one was in 1995 where he sings You Are Not Alone and when he sings “I’ll come running” he does that super fast running type move with his feet and it literally looks like he’s flying for a second. First time I saw that my mouth dropped to the floor. It’s his ability to take the message of the music or the lyric and just propel it into another dimension with his body. The other one is he only did it a couple of times actually once when he performed Earth Song in 1996 at one of the awards and then again in 1996 in Brunei where he did this kind of walking on air type move. Like semi robot semi walking on air. Absolutely amazing. I don’t know why he didn’t do that move more. Sometimes it doesn’t look human.
The thing Michael was able to do is he didn’t just move one section of his body. If you slow down the videos of him his whole body is moving. EVERYTHING is moving. I’ll attach a video that I just love because it slows his movements down and you can just see how magical it is. It’s actually a **** video but there are some instances that are just WOW. At one point he looks like an explosion in slow motion with everything moving all the energy expelling and then the next minute his movement is SO graceful like a ballet dancer or a swan. You’ll see my trillion comments on it lol I was so excited about the video…

He has been dancing ALL his life, also he had been tortured by his father when he was in the Jackson 5 so he was forced to do all the right moves, so he is just so amazing!

Omg. I know right!! Tell me about it! I’ve been a fan of MJ since I was 4 but *really* became a “hard-core” fan after watching the most famous performance of Billie Jean about a year and a half ago!! I was just absolutely gobsmacked!!
I guess you could say he was born with natural talent…but talent can only be made. Practising was the key to MJ’s success.
Though I have to admit every time I listen to a song of his or watch a vid I think…Joseph Jackson. He practically *forced* fame on him….sure we got a fabulous entertainer and a God out of it but it makes me sad that when he was younger he was scared into performing and the early stages of his practising and building up his talent were literally torture for him.
But you know…he said he always loved performing but it makes me feel kind of sick that he had to go through all that to become what he became
ps…i have a friend who can dance *almost* (but not quite) as good as MJ…but he does that whole break-dancey stuff…but obvs never as good as MJ!!!
